Well my blogging and homework recording got away from me this week. I had a district in-service on Thursday and had to be away from my class most of the day, so that set things off.
Anyway, here's the scoop...
We worked our way through word study this week. It went pretty well considering all of the interuptions with Ms. Lamb being away on Thursday and trying to squeeze in visits to the computer lab to set up our accounts. We went over everything on Friday and most kids got all caught up and handed in all their work.
I also collected journals which I will try to do every other Friday. I gave an assessment score of 1,2,3 or 4. 3 means you did all the assignments to at least a half page. 4 exceeded this by lengh, content, creativity, etc. 2 mostly meant you forgot a homework assigment or wrote very little.
Band and chorus started this week. All band instrument forms were due today. Email Rebecca Karwan if you missed the deadline.
Study hall, for those student not doing band or chorus, will be a silent guided study hall for homework, reading, computer skills or other silent, independent work.
We also had our first fire drill today. It went very well.
